You only need to scroll down the page and look at all these pictures to realise that Tenerife is such a wonderful diverse island where there is something for everyone and lots of variety to enjoy.

Here are just some of the reasons why Tenerife continues to maintain its status as one of the most popular destinations for UK holidaymakers, where they can find warm sunshine, tropical beaches, great food and drink, wonderful scenery and friendly locals, 52 weeks of the year:
Tenerife is the most popular of the Canary Islands, a sub tropical group just off the West coast of Africa and as such it enjoys great weather all the year round, especially on the dry South West coast.

Tenerife enjoys direct flights from many UK airports and it is only a short four hour flight to this idyllic paradise.

Tenerife is a Spanish protectorate enjoying special status within the EU and is currently benefiting from huge EU investment in the infrastructure of the island. Another important factor to consider is that the investment is safe within an EU protected area and European Law.

It's really the combination of being a whole year round paradise and the short flight from the UK that not only makes Tenerife so popular with holidaymakers but also with property buyers.

However, Tenerife is not the place to snap up cheap property deals in the hope of making a quick profit on a rising market. The Tenerife property market is well established with property prices rising consistently every year and is a great investment over a longer term. The taxes and costs of buying and selling (around 10 to 12% & 8% respectively) prohibit quick profits and mean that investments need to be for at least three years to show a good profit.

The great advantage of buying property in Tenerife is that it is possible to rent it out the whole year round, attracting those holidaymakers seeking winter sun. This means that the income from one apartment in Tenerife would be the same as two apartments in Turkey, Bulgaria etc. and don't forget that, wherever you are, community fees etc. have to be paid all year round whether the property is being used or not. Hence it makes much more sense to buy holiday property in Tenerife where income comes all year round.

It's certainly the potential all year round rental income that makes Tenerife a great investment and this has enabled many to buy their own holiday paradise home by taking a Spanish mortgage and letting the rental income pay off the instalments, thereby getting free use of their own apartment for several weeks per year and eventually owning their own property.

Buying property in Tenerife is also a great pension alternative, taking the rental income as a pension, but remember, unlike a normal pension this doesn't stop when you die, there is property in Tenerife to leave to your children and grandchildren, after a lifetimes pleasure and income.
